Some 150 photographs by 14 photographers, including two women and one anonymous, are displayed in a room on the first floor of the Museum, with free admission until 7 January.
The photography exhibition “Contemplating Mary… Between beauty and faith” opened yesterday at the Pius XII Museum.
It is an initiative organised in partnership with the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sameiro and the museums of the Archdiocese of Braga, which aims to end 2017 in the best way possible, a year crowned by the celebration of the Centennial of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima.
With this Marian exhibition, the director of the Pius XII Museum and president of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sameiro pointed out that Braga is “in harmony with the whole world”, as it marks the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception in a special way.
“We are also in harmony with popular Portuguese religiousness”, highlighted canon José Paulo Abreu at the beginning of the opening welcome session.
